Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what we need to run AlgoVizuals and to learn which problems and features actually help people. We don’t show ads and we don’t sell your data.

1. Your account

When you sign up we store your email, name, username, an optional avatar and, if you add them, your college, program and batch. We also store the code you run and submit, your results, streaks and study plans. We need this to provide the service.

2. Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, and actions such as opening a problem, running or submitting code, playing a visualisation or starting a study plan. Google also records your browser, device type and approximate location (country/city, derived from your IP address).

• If you haven’t accepted: no analytics cookies are set. Google receives anonymous, cookieless signals that can’t be tied to you.
• If you accept: Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga) and, when you’re signed in, we attach your internal account number so we can see how people progress over time. We never send your email or name to Google.

You can change your choice at any time with the switch above or in Settings. Turning it off removes the analytics cookies from this browser. Your choice is saved in this browser only, so you may be asked again on another device.

3. Other storage in your browser

We keep your sign-in session and a few preferences (theme, narration on/off, your analytics choice) in your browser’s local storage. These are needed for the site to work and aren’t used for tracking.

4. Services we rely on

Your data is processed by the providers we use to run the platform: our cloud hosting and database providers, Google (sign-in with Google and Google Analytics) and our email delivery provider for verification and password-reset emails. They process data on our behalf and only for these purposes.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time. Email admin@algovizuals.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. This applies wherever you are, including under India’s DPDP Act and the EU GDPR.

7. Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. See also our Terms & Conditions.
